The Sales Application Engineer (SAE) is responsible for providing technical sales and full product lifecycle technical support of Palomar Products’ portfolio of intercom solutions. The ideal candidate will partner with Account Executives, Business Unit Managers, and Engineering to prospect for new opportunities and follow-up with customers (End users, OEMs, and Integrators) to help increase the sales funnel and close sales opportunities. The SAE shall become the technical support focal to prospective and current customers. The SAE shall be able to identify technical solutions and convert into value propositions for customers. The SAE will be responsible for performing field upgrades and troubleshooting of Palomar’s products, giving presentations and pre/post sales demos, and attending seminars and trade shows.

Primary Responsibilities
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  1. With different partners in the organization, find and maintain prospective customers and opportunities suited for Palomar. Identify, evaluate and recommend opportunities consistent with company objectives.
  2. Respond to customer inquiries about the products, and provide application solutions.
  3. Act as the liaison between Customers and Palomar’s cross functional groups.
  4. Clearly articulate highly complex and technical capabilities, and give technical demonstrations and presentations.
  5. Assist with proposal writing and response.
  6. Assist with on-line/digital product marketing, and social media footprint.
  7. Attend Aerospace industry tradeshows, exhibitions, and.
  8. Provide existing and new customers with product demonstrations of evolving feature capabilities of Palomar product lines.
  9. Using market/customer/competitor intel, provide recommendations and input into new product development strategy and roadmap.
  10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  11. Provide full product lifecycle technical support to Customers with installed systems.
  12. Provide sustainment technical support at Customer’s site when needed (upgrades, troubleshooting, and training).
  13. Support special projects and completes other responsibilities associated with the position.
  14. Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  15. Understand and live by the Company’s ethics and business conduct policies.
  16. Works under direction of Business Unit Manager and Account Executive in support of new business acquisition.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years proven experience in aerospace avionics technical sales.
  • Experience in aviation communication equipment, installation or technical support highly desirable.
  • Degree educated in a related subject area would be advantageous/BS in Electrical highly desirable.
  • Military/Defense avionics experience highly desirable.
  • Technical knowledge on ICS and/or Radio subject matter expertise strongly desired
  • Ability to discuss highly technical concepts.
  • Ability to prepare and review complex technical/marketing/sales documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to travel to support customer meeting, sales events and field support at customer sites.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors and attributes and is a role model for others in the organization in every day actions.
  • Embodies the company’s three value drivers.

Salary Range $80,000.00 - $110,000.00
